Reuse, Reduce, Recycle at First Pres
First Pres collects the following items for the indicated organizations. Collection containers are located in the Collection Center outside the office. These items make a difference!
Ink Cartridges redeem at $3.00 each and supplement the Pastor's emergency fund. $60.00 was contributed to this fund through redemption in 2012. The following brands/models are included in the program:
Lexmark: 1, 2, 3, 16, 17, 20, 26, 27, 32, 33, 34, 35, 60, 80, 82, 83
HP: 17, 21, 22, 28, 57, 74/74XL, 75/75XL, 901/XL black, 60 black, 60 color
Canon: CK-31, CK-41, CL-51, CL-211/XL, PG-30, PG-40, PG-50, PG-210/XL
Dell: All except Series 7, 11, and 20
Education Box Tops and Campbell Soup Labels are contributed to Tekoppel School where they are redeemeds for a wide variety of school related equipment for the classrooms and playground.
Aluminum Tabs from aluminum cans are contributed to the Ronald McDonald House for redemption.
Cell Phones, old, outdated, or even broken are sold and 100% of the proceeds are donated to TOUCH, which provides non-medical financial assistance to cancer patients. TOUCH = Transportation, Out-of-pocket expenses, Utilities, Children's Resources, Housing.
Eye Glasses reuse is a project of the Lions Club
Travel-sized Toiletries are donated to United Caring Shelter for its 100 male residents and transitional housing for 23 men.
Hearing Aids are donated to the Ohio Valley Presbytery where they are reused by International Center of Bethlehem
Belts and Bras, gently used, are needed by the PTA Clothing Bank.
eScrip
3% of your grocery purchase at Schnucks can benefit the Pastor's Emergency Fund. An eScrip Customer Care Card can be obtained at Schnucks Service counter or in the church office. $387.00 was provided to this fund in 2012!
