CAJE Information and Introductory Meeting *postponed*

Sunday, Mar 15, 2020, 9:30am

Congregations Acting for Justice and Empowerment (CAJE) is a nonprofit group of 23 local organizations - representing people from all walks of life - in Vanderburgh, Posey and Warrick counties in southwestern Indiana.  CAJE includes Christians, Hindus, Muslims, and Unitarian Universalists, working to better the lives of everyone in our community. CAJE’s process does not just advocate for needed change - it actively identifies, researches, and creates solutions that tackle critical social issues by using a proven multi-step process. Working directly with stakeholders - politicians, law enforcement, service providers, and everyday citizens - CAJE strives to implement solutions that achieve true, long-lasting change.  And CAJE is making a difference.

For nearly two decades, CAJE has challenged the status quo, taking on urgent community needs in southwestern Indiana! Our focus for 2020:

Unsafe Neighborhoods

The Affordable Housing Crises in Vanderburgh, Warrick, and Posey Counties

The Dually Diagnosed Child (autism with co-occuring mental health need)

In November 2019, First Presbyterian Church became a covenant congregation in CAJE.  This is an outgrowth of First Pres’ history in doing the work of social justice in Evansville.

We want to share more about CAJE and its work with our members and friends.  A special introduction to CAJE will be held on Sunday, March 15 at 9:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.  Please join us to find out more about this critical work.
