2020 Lenten Study: Book of Amos

During one of the longest and most peaceful times in their history, Israel attained a height of territorial expansion and national prosperity they would never again reach. Military security and economic affluence were interpreted as the blessings of God. Israel thought these blessings came because they were doing everything just right. But God was not pleased.
Why? That’s the focus of our Lenten Study. Each week, we will address a portion of Amos’ prophecy, searching out the meaning in its original context, and then considering how it might apply to us and our time.
This study will be resourced by Kevin Fleming and take place in Kerr Chapel. Three sessions for each portion of the study have been scheduled, allowing you some flexibility to fit this important time into your busy schedule. The study will take place on Sundays at 9:30 a.m., Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m., and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. Choose the time that best fits your schedule!
